June
By: Ley Wire
June is warm as Mother's hugs,
She's sandals tossed upon the rug,
She smells of bonfire wood,
Chrysanthemums and Childhood,
June is the Sparrow,
And the Lark,
June is the neighbor dog's friendly bark.
Spends her evenings lounging on the deck,
She's condensation on your neck.
June is playful and fun,
Tastes of skin baked in the sun.
She's loved by the Sapphire and Maroon,
But the Emerald gave her coat to June,
She's tiny eggs hidden in a tree,
And the fuzzy backs of bumblebees
June is leaves spread out big and tall,
But June loves children most of all.
