What Happened Past the River

What Happened Past the River
By: Ley Wire

Emerald leaves a-turning,
Do you feel your sisters' burning?
Infant crops of May,
Do you know of their dismay?
Do these country hills in quiet,
Whisper solemnly of riots.

Do they feel the pain a-patter,
Does it matter,
Does it matter?

Just on past the river,
Can you feel the cities quiver?
Are the farmer's fields forlorn,
Do our tiny flowers mourn.
Will willows weepingly proclaim,
Our sisters are in flames?

Do the woodland creatures chatter,
Does it matter,
Will it matter?
