History Wednesdays!

The kids I get pretty excited about history. This week we are learning about the Norsemen. Their attacks on the Franks eventually lead the Franks to giving them Normandy.

We learned about Eric the Red's disappointing  discovery of Greenland from Iceland (I always imagine air quotes around those countries). And about his son Leif's discovery of Newfoundland.

We read some cool Norse mythology and made Thor's hammer pendants.

It's the feast day of Our Lady of Fatima today, so we watched a short film about The miracle of the dancing sun and colored some pictures.

I could say he gets this from his father, but I'd be lying.
